I currently have an Aqualung ABS Octo and am looking at replacing my regulator with an Apeks XTX200 or 100. Is there any reason the Aqualung octo shouldn't work with the Apeks setup?

No.

For best results, you can have the octopus optimally tuned to the IP that the first stage provides, but it will work fine even if you just slap it together.

It will probably fine.

There is a slight chance that the Alternate second (octo) will need to be re tuned if the IP is different enough from the prior first stage. Since it's usually set a little stiff you have some leeway. When you get it in the water just make sure that it's not prone to free flows and that it breathes acceptably.

Ideally get the shop to migrate the alternate and check it with instruments while they give the Apeks a once over.
