Whale Shark Marathon
(First Annual)
The Whale Shark & Oceanic Research Center (WSORC) located on the island of Utila in the Bay Islands of Honduras is sponsoring a Whale Shark Marathon. Contrary to popular belief, the whale shark is found in the waters of the Bay Islands all year long. WSORC is a non profit research center. In order to continue, maintain and sustain the wonderful programs of research at WSORC we are asking for sponsors to contribute to the Whale Shark Marathon.
How it works. Sponsors will make a dollar amount pledge for every whale shark sited and photographed during the months November 2007 thru April 2008. The top five sponsors will receive a WSORC T-shirt and ball cap. A special gift for those that guess the total number of whale sharks sited will be awarded.
This is a great opportunity to show your support and assist in the preservation and understanding of one of the seas great creatures as well as all of the other wonderful functions that WSORC provides. All contributors will receive weekly updates via e-mail as to the number of whale sharks sited and photographed during that week.
