Short, cheap dive trips while flying out of Shanghai?

I'll be in Shanghai in March and am interested in trying to sneak in a few days of diving somewhere in Asia. I can't spare a whole week, and want to do it at reasononable cost. A partial week liveaboard would be ideal.

I did a 4 day liveaboard trip at the end of a work trip to Australia last year, and that was great. Oz is too far from Shanghai, though.

What about flying to Bankok (cheap, frequent flights) and going for 3-4 days out of there? Or? Suggestions?

There are direct flights to Okinawa and we can set-up beach and boat diving no problem. We could arrange for 3-5 dives per day and inexpensive hotel no problem.

Why not fly to Cebu, Philippines and dive around Malapascua
