Casio EX-P700 as an UW camera? I need help!

I am new to UW photography, and I am looking for a way to try it out before investing a great deal of money. I currently own the Casio EX-P700 and the Nixon D80. I hope to use the D80 one day, however do not want to invest the money to buy the casing without knowing that I will be any good at this, or enjoy it. I am looking to see if the camera I currently own would be any good trying with a strobe before jumping in with 2 feet. Any thoughts? I have also been considering the Canon 9g with the z240? Would this be a good combination? I feel so lost and confused. Any guidance is appreciated! Thanks.

The G9 w/ Inon Z240 is the setup that I would probably be using if I used a compact. I would check to see which housing mfgs. allowed the use of wetmate lenses (wide angle & macro) before I bought one.
