I'm looking for Stainless Steel Bolt Snaps, one for the reg second stage, kind of what DIR says, and some for my pony bottle... I know you can find them at "your local hardware store", but since I live in the Dominican Republic, it is not that easy to find. Do any of you know of an Online Place where I can buy them, and what size should I buy?
Thanks in Advance!

Size is dependant on use and preference.

Ok... I plan to buy the reef scuba ones. Two more questions:
What size do you recommend for each, since they have at least 3 or for sizes? I plan to use one for the SPG, one for the first stage, and some for my stage bottles.....
Also, what is the difference between the brass one and the stainless steel? Which one will last longer?
Thanks again!

Since you live in DR I would think that you would be diving warm water all the time with no thick bulky gloves. Buy the small bolt snaps. Stainless steel I would imagine would be your best bet since I think your preety much diving the Ocean.

Mech,
What is the quality like on those snaps? Any idea what grade of SS?

and have dunked them in salt water many times.
No corrosion or problems.
You can't argue with the price and the quality - at least for the ones I got - is ok.
I don't know if this guy rotates suppliers or anything similar though, so YMMV.

The price is excellent. And it sounds like you're getting a good quality piece.

He doesn't carry the small ones that you would want for the primary (long hose) clip-off snap.
He's got the "middle size" that's good for just about any kind of regular gear, and the "larger ones" that would make good stage bottle clips and such, but not the little ones that I prefer for my primary hose (and some would probably prefer for their SPG)
Of course much depends in that area on the gloves you're wearing too.

Actually, for me the middle and large sizes are perfect. Dry gloves and thick neoprene gloves for the cold water make the larger size snaps a necessity.

on my reg, actually.
My concern is that its going to present a "tug" kind of feel that I won't like in the water due to its weight, or it will flop around and hit me in the face in current. :)
The small ones are not noticable. The medium ones will be, I suspect.....
On the SPG its not as big a deal.
Then again even when in a drysuit around here (55-70F water) I usually only have 3 mil gloves on. We don't get cold enough water here to need anything heavier than that on our hands....

DD,
Sorry I didn't get back to you, wasn't on until just now. Looks like Genesis got it covered though.
I have not ordered these yet. I think 3 or 4 of us will go together and get some, and I've been waiting so see what everybody wanted.

I've ordered many of the inch and a bit and the 3/4 inch stainless clips a number of times. the latest batch of 3/4 inchers look like a different brand, but work just as well. I get my 4 inch stainless double enders at my lowe's warehouse-o-stuff.

I ordered a batch of the 3/4" snaps about 3 months ago, they are stamped with MALASIA. I have got about 40 dives on them all in the ocean, and no rust at all yet. BTW, I ordered them all for myself, and I'll probably still need more soon.

oh, and he's really quick on the shipping too. Nice when you need 'em in a hurry.
