Hi Everyone,

Got my freebie website put together and wanted to share some of my better pictures with fellow divers. Unfortunately I am still learning so some of the pictures are out of alignment or the vis was bad.

The most awesome dive I did was this past weekend over at Casino Point on Catalina when I encountered 2 giant sea bass and got 1 picture off, unfortunately he was about 15 feet away.

I hope you enjoy.

You're off to a great start! Keep practicing, you'll get there.

Nice pics!

A suggestion-you need to vary the subject matter for the Hawaii shots!!

Looking good -
I'm wondering about the anemones you have form the oil rig - I'm not sure they are anymones, obviously polyps of some sort - but I have not seen anemones in colonies like that before - I could be completely wrong though - any idea what the species is?

Thank you for the kind words.

DD I hope to get some good pictures when I go to Maui in September (with Jonathan's help of course) and hopefully a better selection. I actually have other pictures of other marine life but I was limited to what I could put on the FREEBIE site, and the Garibaldi are very photogenic :tease:.

wet Dane, as far as the anemones, I was told they are strawberry anemones but I couldn't swear to that. The divemaster was the one who originally said what it was and then some other "experts" from the club said so as well. I only know they looked nice and I wanted to take a picture of them whatever they were.

Wow... right on SoCaldiver! When I was down there in May I drove past Seal Beach & was wondering about the structures off the beach. As usual the visions under the surface are much more attractive!

Cools SD,

I will see what I have on strawberry anemones - I was hoping you might a scientiic name - but I'll toss it around and see - what throws me is that I have never seen colonies of anemones - at that point they are known as polyps...
Anyway - what was the water temp? We don't have anything like that up here in the puget sound - well, not that I have seen anyway - maybe out by the pacific...

Oh - what kind of camera did you get? Happy? I'm thinking about something small and cheap to start...

Cheers - thanks for the images,
Dane
