Discover the St.Lawrence seaway in Québec this summer !

Every year, in August, I'm going to dive at Les Escoumins in Québec, 2h30 east of Québec City. If you've never been there, it is magical. The aquatic fauna is more diverse that down south according to underwater naturalists ! Seals, whales, belugas, it is all there, even if you can't dive with a whale. There's 2 wrecks there as well but nothing compared to what we have in Brockville and Toby.

You cross the river and end up in Rimouski and you can dive the Empress if you have the experience and the training for it. It is simply massive wreck that sunck May 28, 1914, a few months before WW1 started, after being hit by another ship starboard side : 1012 people died and are still trapped in there, the authorities chose to salvage the silver cargo instead...

Also, there's the 1st artificial wreck to be sunk in Québec in the same area : The Nipigon. It will be sank in july 2003. I was fortunate enough to visit the ship before it'll be sank. Cool stuff !
