New 08 Releases
Details of a few new cameras are being released at the moment for the PMA2008.
There should be more details in the next few days.
I have been sorely tempted by the G9 but have been put off by hassle of adding wet lenses.
Fuji F100 may be interesting.
I am hoping for some good news from Canon & Nikon in the high end P&S range.
A Canon S90 would do nicely or a Nikon P5200 with Raw and 28mm.

I think I'm going to have to succumb to the new Rebel, the Xsi (http://www.usa.canon.com/templatedata/pressrelease/20080123_xsi.html). I've been waiting for the announcement before deciding to buy the Xti at a pretty good discount from Dell or wait.
The two things about the Xsi that disappoint me are the new battery (I was hoping it would use the same battery as the other two Canon's I have) and there doesn't appear to be a video mode (as predicted). Otherwise, it sounds like a real winner for me.
Now I just wait until it's available, sometime in April or May.

I just checked the specs for the F100. It looks like a nice all around compact camera. Underwater there are a few issues:
The Fuji housing has a rectangular port. This is probably due to the wider lens. We'll see if Ikelite makes a housing for this.
Same NP-50 battery as the F50fd. Average battery life. Nothing special.
No flash exposure control. No slave mode.
The attached photo is from Fuji's website.

Another new housing then that will probabily rule out attaching wet lenses.
