Unusual Floating Object?

Okay, it isn't that unusual, but it looks alien. It is a moon jelly with a sunball behind it. It was taken at Santa Cruz Island yesterday afternoon. The Truth was scheduled to go to San Miguel, but the weather didn't cooperate. It was a long bumpy ride to get to Yellow Banks. Oh well, it was a nice day, and we had reasonable conditions.

That's a great image!

That is very cool! I love diving with moon jellies. They keep you entertained on your safety stop.

Awesome shot but you need to update your copyright calendar.

Beautiful.....thanks for sharing!

I think the back lighting works since the jelly is so translucent. Here is a more traditional portrait. It is nice, but not as compelling IMHO

Perhaps not as artistically striking as the sunburst shot, but I think it's great because it shows the jelly in its natural environment. Great job with both!
