I've located a source for new copies of "A Careless Word, A Needless Sinking" by Capt. Arthur Moore. This book details Merchant losses off the East Coast during WWII and is considered an excellent resource on this topic. For a long time its been hard to find, and expensive when found.

I found a Merchant Marine Vets chapter in NJ that has multiple copies, not sure exactly how many but one less now... Cost is $90 shipped.

If anyone is interested in a copy you can contact Harry Dircks at Stokerammv@aol.com
