How does the sherwood regulator IP pressure change with ambient water pressure since it has a dry bleed system? Trying to understand this better.

A passive element lets a trickle of air into the dry spring chamber. There is then a close fitting check valve that lets pressure in excess of ambient outside water pressure escape. This maintains ambient pressure in the spring chamber where it can add it's influence to the piston behavior.
