My wife and I are signed up for a trip out of Scuba Ted's (Springville, UT) to go to Santa Barbara Island aboard the MV Horizon, out of San Diego. After playing with the sea lions, they go to either Catalina or San Clemente to finish up the trip, it sounds like it's been a lot of fun in the past. June 12-14th.
Would love to see some other SB folks on the trip, so if you're up to it, give Scuba Ted's a call. (801) 491-DIVE (3483).
I don't work for 'em or anything, just thought I'd share. :)

I haven't done the Horizon boat but I have heard good things about them. This trip though only has 4 spots left available according to their schedule:
Horizon Charters: Channel Islands Dive Schedule 2008 (http://www.horizoncharters.com/schedule/2008/channelislands_scuba_08.html)
if you click on the dates it tells you how many spots, price, etc.
This boat though sounds pretty nice, driving out would be to San Diego though instead on LA. From our place in ABQ it looks to be about he same distance, time. There are direct flights on Southwest for pretty cheap, too.

I've dove the Horizon and it is my favorite dive boat. Roomy, camera areas, great crew. I love them!
San Clemente is one of my favoite places to dive too! I've seen on various trips: "Fried Egg Jellyfish, Sea Lions, Giant Black Sea Bass, Soup Fin Shark and the usual California suspects.
Hope you have a great time!!

So, are you folks driving or flying? I just checked the airfare, and it is spendy.

168.00 per person RT on Jet Blue. Not bad at all.

I'm really, really bummed. We may have to back out of this one and lose our deposit. Found out a class I have to take this summer is only available in the first half, which overlaps with this planned dive trip. :(
And for those wondering, we were planning to drive down early and stay with family in the area. San Diego's always a nice drive from here.
