Just wondering if anyone out there would like to trade
DSS LCD 30# for: DSS LCD 40# OR Oxycheq Mach V 40#
It's for a buddy of mine, the wing is practically new about 6 dives on it.
if no bytes, he's looking to sell it, so send me an interest PM with offer.
Tobin, if you would be gracious to work something out, that would be great too!! :D
Thanks
Tony

Tony,
We don't deal in used gear. I would be interested in why your friend needs a 40. There are applications for singles wings larger than 30 lbs., but they aren't common. I'd suggest you have your friend call me.

Thanks Tobin, didn't think you'd answer till tomorrow.. that's some service!
24#s of weight + 15# full tank = 39#s total ballast = 40# wing.

Maybe, maybe not. What tank? How buoyant is your friend's exposure suit?
A wing (or any BC) needs to met two criteria, offer enough lift to float the divers rig with a full tank if he ditches it, and be able to offset the maximum possible change in buoyancy of his exposure suit.
I'd still suggest having your friend call me.

He has actually called and emailed, he initially gave you the wrong numbers on his total weight.
he carries the bp 6#, your plates 8#s, and 10#s additional weight, he uses the 7#s from his faber tank at 500 psi to be neutral at end of dive event with that it's still 31#s.
he uses a wetsuit and some some extra bioprene ;) he also likes to collect bugs so..
not arguing the facts, but he dove the rig yesterday and was having a hard time staying on surface, so he wants the extra comfort .
thanks again

A wetsuit that's +30 is not very common. A diver's personal buoyancy will impact total weighting, but should not impact the size of the wing. The "bioprene" does not compress, and does not loose buoyancy.
I suspect your friend may be over weighted.
I'd be happy to speak with him.

well. i believe he carries a skin under.. also, during last night's dive we took 3#s off just to make sure he was right at 31#s and he korked with 600 psi at 12' and wing was just about empty.. so we think he's good with the weight and the rig he's got.
we'll have him give you a buzz again to clarify... lets keep this one off line so we can stick to the topic since we are not in the general forum.
thanks again Tobin... appreciate you being here so late...

If Tobin doesn't talk your friend out of buying a bigger wing, I'd be interested in the 30, assuming I enjoy some benefit$ over buying it new.
