there's another good thread about finding
diving projects. Maybe state specific would
be better than a general inquiry. Are there
any Michigan diving projects coming up that
anyone knows about?

Lawman,

I must have missed the other topic you saw, so I'm in the dark. What do you mean by a 'diving project'?

I know some states work on reefs, clean up
diving sites and waterways and in Traverse
City they had some kind of intro to diving. That
may have been PADI, but that's the general idea.
In the other site it was being asked also...it seems
I always read about these things after they're done.

I know there's an outfit that cleans Mich rivers..
maybe that could be worked into something with
diving. Anyway I was asking and hoping for info.:)

I would think that a couple of the local dive shops would be a good place to find out that kind of information.

My LDS in Flint, knows all of the local Sheriff's and State Police Divers from the area, and seems to me that they would know about other government sponsored projects too. You might go and poke around a couple of those places and see what reply you get???

I saw something last year about mapping the locations of Lake Huron wrecks around the Thunder Bay preserve. Info mentioned matching divers with boat owners interested in doing area searches on a volunteer basis. It is believed that there are still a great many undiscovered wrecks in the area they want to search.
