I am about to launch a new ecommece business. I am tired of spending $150 and up for a new suit. I know when I go diving it wears out and then it is time to buy another suit. So I have made a deal with a manufacturer and I am saling them dirt cheap. These suits retail for $120 - $180..... I will also have sizes up to a 4XL. If you need a size bigger let me know and I will do my best to get it. Anybody interested yet?

Sounds tempting. Do you have a website where I can check them out? Thanks.

Man I did not expect such a great return on this so quickly....

Ok let me see if I can answer your questions.

Do you have a website where I can check them out? Yes and frankc420 nailed it. It is a template for now and running oscommerce. I am going to have up to 12 different colors. I am just working out the bugs on the site so when it is all up and running I will post on this forum.

Busdiver asked do I sale it.... Well I am saling it online. They are manufactured from a company called sharkeyslocker.com. If you go to Sharkeys Locker (http://www.sharkeyslocker.com/Scuba_Wetsuits.html) This will show you all the suits that will be posted for sale. Everything they have marked in Stock will be sold.

Deepblueme said: How is the stitching/

I will check on the type of Neoprene. YOu are right they are not all the same I just cannot remember the percentages.... Also I do agree you have to be careful because at this price you probably think it is not good quality. They have Flat Lock stiching with zippers on the legs and cuffs.... Also they have Glued and Blind stiched stiching on the others. I have one that I have been diving with and I love it so far. I got the yellow one with Flat Lock stiching and have had no problems with it.... My brother got there 5mm and he says it is very warm and he will not go back to henderson.

shoupart Do you carry 7mm suits? And hooded vests?
They dont have 7mm yet but I have already talked to them about em and they plan on getting those in hopefully by next year. I believe I will be able to sale 7mm around $70 or $80. They have also mentioned Shorties, Farmer Johns/Janes. I am not sure about the hooded vests but I will ask. I know they do have some 5mm suits now.

On another note: I am happy to see such a great response already. If you go there site you can click on dema pictures and it will show you some of there suits as well. If you have any other questions post them and I will try and respond ASAP.... Thanks again.....

Deepblueme: I called my brother a divemaster and asked him if they were dive quality and he said yes. These suits are being sold in Diveshops for $180. The reason I am going to be able to sale them at a great price is I am not tripling my money. You are right you get what you pay for so you are getting a $180 suit for a great price. These are not surfin suits and my brother also mentioned that he would put his suit up against pennicle any day.

The type of Neoprene used is 70/30... 70 is soft neoprene and the 30 is hard neoprene.

If you would like more specifics let me know and I can break it down further explaining SBR, SR, CF etc....

The reason I am going to sale these suits is that I am wanting all divers to be able to dive in a quality suit at a great price.

Let me know if there are any other questions....

He stated in an earlier post that his site is still under construction and is NOT live yet.

I've PM'd him to see if he needs assistance getting things running, as setting up an Ecommerce site in a weeks time is not an easy task for many. He probably jumped the gun by posting about the business, but that's what excitement does to people when it comes to their new baby.

On the Sharkeys Locker website he referred to there is a mens 'all black' but it is listed as 'taking orders' and available '90-120' days. I am really looking forward to some 'user' feedback on this equipment. Most suits I see are two tone usually as a stylish selling feature.

Clem: The reason they are very well priced is I am not trying to triple my money like most dive shops try to do. I am trying to give divers a great price on a great product. No, nobody has dumped stock on me. I have purchased these products and I am just providing them to you. We have found the bi-colored suits to be very popular. I will let you know when we get full color suits in. You can even sign up for the newsletter and it will notify you of new products. Clem see Ed Hatfields reply.

someone just posted as a sock puppet over on scubadiving.com's diver board, claiming to be just a customer who got a great deal on a wetsuit, we sniffed him out as the webmaster (maybe more). Deceit, deceit, deceit.......
I would be VERY CAREFUL with this, guys. The webmaster outright lied, based on the posts here that the site wasn't even operational until VERY recently, and he acted as a shill to tell us how good the wetsuits were.
Here's a link: t (http://www.scubadiving.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=86204)
The website doesn't have any contact information, not an address, phone number, nothing.
I do not like to do business with disreputable people who lie. This could be all legit, but I don't have a good feeling about it..... look at the link to make your own decisions.
Good luck, I told the sock puppet I was going to look for him.....He also deleted all his posts, so you'll have a little bit of a hard time following, but trust me when I tell you it was not good. Why he had to be deceitful and not just say he's started a new business is beyond me, but it is what it is.

Actually I am aware of this. Divebri I am sorry if you experienced some problems in a post about this company. We offer our apologies and the person will be dealt with. However don’t let that one person decide the reputation of the company. We have branded suits from a manufacturer that is a dema member and shows last year in Florida, California and Georgia. Like I said don’t let one person discourage you from a good company. I appreciate your honest and comments.

We have sold a few suits and I hope to receive those reviews very soon. :)

frankc420

My first impressions of these suits, I ordered two, both are the 5/4mm Red/Black. I ordered them in L and XXL.

At first glance, I can tell the stitching stands out more on this suit than my Henderson. But, that's like comparing a Lexus to a Toyota. The Henderson suit I dive goes for ~$300, this suit goes for $60. At closer inspection, the stitching looks to be high quality, just doesn't have the clean appearance of higher priced suits. The stitch on this suit is sewn and glued, so it should last quite awhile. Without diving it, I'm going to guess that leaking around the seams like some suits, will not be present because of the glueing, we'll see. The sizing looks to be right on, but I have yet to try the suit on (I'm at work). The neck seal is adjustable and the suit is back zip. The red on the suit is dark, so it doesn't stand out like some red/black combos, this to me, is great, I hate bright colors.

Appearance rating (1-10): 8.5

Would I buy another suit from these guys? Based on appearance alone, absolutely.

I'll keep you guys posted once I have tried it on. Just so you know, my review is from 2 different people. Myself and my dive buddy (he wears the L).

I am currently working on having Sharkey's create an all black suit (Full ultra stretch Possibly) which will only have a small logo on the collar. Also, the stitching appearance has been addressed and they have already begun creating the new suit. After they get samples in and test them they will have them available for sale.

I would like to ask you, then, point blank: Are you saying it was NOT YOU that was the sock puppet?
And, assuming the answer to that is no, does the sock puppet have any ownership in the company?

You might think these questions are out of bounds, but based on the posts, they are very legitimate questions due to that person's lack of ethics.

As a newer memeber, I am aware that there are some people who get ripped off, and that is obvoiusly very bad. However, JDG has been (by my account) very responsive to the post that have been written here. It seems as though this person has taken the time to answer and address all concerns by the SB members. This person has replied in a very timely manner to all comments both positive and negative. Please, lets give this guy the benefit of the doubt. I want him to be successful, so I can buy a wetsuit for a good price. Just because there as dishonorable people who may post on this website, doesn't necessarily means JDG is one of them. I fact it seems just the opposite. Good Luck JDG. If I didn't hate wetsuits as much as I do, I might contact you.

BuckSlice4: It would cost around $28 for shipping to that area. Send me a pm with the suit you would like and your address and we can get a more accurate estimate and arrange payment and shipment.

Brynmc57: mmm That is interesting let me look into that and I will make the correction on the size chart. Good catch. Thanks

Dove my new suit yesterday. I was quite toasty in 58 degree waters. My dive buddy that was supposed to dive his new 5/4 from JustDiveGear decided he wanted to dive his Henderson 3mm on the first dive, even after I told him he shouldn't. (the water was just too cold for 3mm, plus he had no hood on)

He jumped in a was instantly gasping for air, the cold water took his breathe away, he called the dive for himself, as me and another diver dove the rig. I never got cold, not even for a second.

The suit was kind of tight in the arms and legs when I was donning on the boat, but that might be normal for new suits and thicker neoprene. Once I was in the water though, it loosened up to where I was comfy. I ended up wearing the suit all the way back to the dock.

My dive buddy did try his suit on, he said it fit better than his Henderson.

I got my suit in last week, unfortunately it was a little larger than expected and I will be exchanging it for a slightly smaller size. Previously I have been diving with a ScubaPro, but the quality of this one looks quite good, so no concerns with using it.

I wasn't planning to get a 5mm for cost reasons (just sticking with 3mm and 7mm) but this is sorely tempting me ...

Definitely let me know if you get in some 7mm, I live in the cold North quarry region and need a 7mm! Especially if Sharkey's starts making a 7mm farmer jane/jacket!

I am not sure yet on a timeframe for the 7mm suits. I would expect next season hopefully. I am going to try and get some accessories soon.... :)

Womens: http://www.justdivegear.com/gear/images/size_chart_Womens.gif

I talked to them yesterday. Sharkey's (just dive's distributor) is liquidating their stock, which in turns causes Justdivegear to shut their doors.

However, you can send Justdivegear a PM and request a suit, if it's available I'm sure he'd sell you one.

What does all this mean, exactly????

Everyone liquidates their inventory. It's called commerce. But LIQUIDATING implies they're shutting down production, and calling it quits. Is that the case?????

Are you going out of business, finding another supplier, what?????

And did everyone that paid for one get a suit?????

I'm having a hard time understanding.

I once got a hold of a manufacturer from China about three years ago that had a great website and sold all the gear that I saw on Sharkey's website. Yeah they were great prices but you had to order a container of product to make it worthwhile for the shipping, time frame, etc. They were really great prices. Wetsuits as low as $20. You had to order 500plus of the same size, color, etc. I like the comments you get what you pay for because as with any product you purchase from over seas it passes through a lot of hands and everyone adds there markup. $120 to $180 for that $20 suit is about right.

I wanted to get on here and answer some of the questions that are posted.

Divebri: I am working with Sharkeys to see what the deal is but since they are shutting down it will be more difficult for me to continue selling suits. Bare, Henderson and a few others require you to have a dive shop in order to sell. We don’t have a dive shop and that is one of the ways we were able to offer such great prices. Also everyone that paid for a suit did get one. I made sure of that. If I can find another supplier than I will re-open the store.

Fish Food: The reason is because of the deal we had with sharkeys about products.

Clanggedin: I wish that was the case. With them liquidating it is more difficult keep the correct sizes in stock so that is the reason I had to shut the store for now.

Debraw: You are correct that is why I was dealing with Sharkeys they actually purchased directly from the manufacturer in China so the mark up was very low and it had there branding on them.

Diver 85: You are right that does look like a good deal.

If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I am usually faster to respond to PM because they notify me when I have an email.

Thanks for all your comments.

and I'm glad that, if what you say is true, no fellow divers are going to be out anything. You go into business, repping one supplier, and your existence is unfortunately wrapped into that supplier. Once they go under, your existence is over.
My whole issue with your company was the way it was repped at Scubadiving. FrankC420 is naieve (read: an idiot) if he thinks that your company's incredible prices, unbelievable service, terrible website, unsecured checkout, and other red flags didn't merit some hesitancy on an informed, cautious consumer's part. I suspect he might be so dumb he's probably been the victim of a Nigerian scam. His calling me rude was uncalled for and regrettably all I can say is I was right, you're out of business. The fact that you haven't screwed any consumers is a testament to your ethics, but it certainly could have happened. FrankC420 needs to quit smoking so much 420, if ya know what I mean. Contrary to what Mr. 420 thinks, I appreciate a heads-up from my fellow divers, and I suspect most others do as well. It's a small family.

I want you to know I have no hard feelings, you took a risk, spent some time and money and lost, it could have been a nice deal for everyone, yourself included. If you start another business or can resurrect this one, I wish you well again. As a consumer, I search for deals with reputable companies all the time. I have to say that your posts about your troubles appear to be honest, and I appreciate that. In fact, if you do start another business dive-related, I would be interested to hear about it. If my needs meet your goods, we might do some business. Just start of a little less suspiciously, OK?

Making personal attacks toward me shows your ignorance, enough said.

And btw, his site was secure, I don't know what YOU were smoking. Because someone doesn't spend thousands of dollars to make a top notch website, I guess that makes them shady. Because their secure checkout wasn't 100% complete day one, I guess that makes them shady. Because someone from their company made a retarded post, I guess that makes them shady.

I replieid in a soft tone, and YOU called me rude?

YOU began the personal attacks, not ME.
I take no joy in your demise, JDG. I wish you would have made it, especially when something like what caused your problem is, essentially, beyond your control.

I meant the rest of the post. I wish you luck in the future, and I am indeed sad that you weren't able to make it in this venture. It would have been nice for everyone.

But I was insulted by FrankC420's attack on me initially when I posted my warning (opinion) and was called the scuba police and rude. I believe he compared my post to running away from a traffic accident, only coming back and backing over the victim. Nice.

If you were to read back what you said in the initial argument, you would see how I would think you were being rude. There's a difference between helping divers out by saying, "he's a new business, be careful" and "his sites ugly, it's not secure, he is probably shady, beware, BEWARE" - In my eyes, thats what you were saying, and to me to judge the book by its cover is rude.

The fact that even after you bashed his company you posted AGAIN doing the same thing again, that's where my backing over your victim scenario came into play.

I'm done with this conversation, it's wasting my time and all of the readers time.

I got my replacement wetsuit, after the first one was too big. Firstly I have to say customer service was first rate! Its too bad about the supplier issue, we could really use someone like JDG.

About the wetsuit... The quality is good, the fit is good, more importantly the seam consistency was good. Its getting warm enough around here I might not get to try it for diving any time soon, but I might give it a shot in the pool tonight. :) I will say I was a little unimpressed with the knee guards. They are more or less silkscreened on. Not a big deal unless you are diving in a rocky lake that requires kneeling a lot. Otherwise a heck of a deal.
