My Humminbird 4000D deepwater fish finder just crapped out. I need to replace it on my electric start Zodiac. I would like your recommendations.

I either dive the Monterey/Carmel Bay coastline down towards Big Sur, lots of surface & bottom kelp, and lots of rocky structure or the Bay sands for halibut.

Can you recommend what works well for you?

I don't want to spend a fortune.

Thanks in advance!

Mike

I've used a battery powered wide angle Lowrance / /eagle. It is self contained and is just the working box and transducer. There are several models and usually on sale on the internet. Oh the zodiac I was diving from was a small one so everything gets splashed. . . I forgot there are some large zodiacs too.
