Greetings again folks -

Still haven't nailed down the fall Indo trip. Ran across a liveaboard in the Fak Fak/Triton Bay area in November. This is one step further "out there" than Raja Ampat, so I can't find much in the way of reports. Anyone here have any information or experiences? I've heard Triton Bay has generally poor viz due to the water being thick "nutrient soup", an obvious plus for UW life, not so much for visibility. That covers my knowledge of the area. Anyone fill in the blanks?

Thanks!

Good link ... thanks!

Funny you should happen along just now, Divehappy ... thanks for the link, but I found your site and report via a Google search several days ago. Excellent, by the way!

And now that I have your attention (assuming you wander across this thread again), a question for you ...

Pardon my ignorance here ... I am quite familiar with the geography of Raja Ampat, but I cannot for the life of me find anything that actually identifies Triton Bay. Is this the bay running W to E that separates the "Bird's Head" from the rest of Papua Barat?

Since we just ran across the last two spots on a liveaboard in Raja Ampat/Triton Bay in November, and committed today, I just thought it would be nice to know where we're going! I've read about everyting in print about the area, seen a bazillion photos, so I know we're in for a great trip!
