My family has decided to take our vacation in Punta Cana this summer. Unfortunatley everything I've heard about diving there is that it's horrible. Can anyone give me information on how I can make my diving experience in the Dominican Republic more enjoyable?

It is still several months away.....Riviara Maya Section of Mexico is the same price. It is not just the Diving in Punta Cana area that offers very little. Everything in that area offers very little.
The only folks I would recommend going there are the people that like to stay at the hotel while drinking and tanning. If you like to get out and about you have to drive over an hour.
