How is the weekend looking for calm seas?
 
How is the weekend looking for calm seas?

Not looking pretty before the weekend, but as the weekend progresses, especially on Sunday, the seas should really lay down!

I'm headed to the Keys tomorrow afternoon to dive all weekend with Conch Republic Divers, so I'll be praying for the seas to lay down quicker than the forecast predicts - Wish me luck!

FRIDAY
EAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 5 TO 7 FEET. NORTHEAST
SWELL 2 TO 3 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. SLIGHT
CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

FRIDAY NIGHT
SOUTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET.
NORTHEAST SWELL 2 TO 3 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.
SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

SATURDAY
SOUTHEAST WINDS 5 TO 10 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET.

But it's less than 1 foot right now.

Yep, the forecast reads:

TODAY
NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 8 TO 10 FEET.
NORTHEAST SWELL 2 TO 4 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS CHOPPY IN EXPOSED
AREAS. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN THE AFTERNOON.

Yet, the view of the beach from Beachplace looks pretty nice:

Just goes to show that all dives should be canceled at the dock!

From the edge of the sand report:D: small waves breaking right at shore but the sun is out lighting up the water. This is my favorite time of day to dive. Were it not for a conference call at 2 & a lack of sleep last night, I'd seriously consider going out for a bit.
