I was wondering if there are any reports of halibut diving along the California coast, especially in the Monterey bay area. This is the time of year when they come into shallower water.

We went looking in Monterey about 2 weeks ago. The water was about 53 and there was a little left over NW swell that had the vis at about 5-8ft. off of the beaches. We did two dives each for three people and did not see one halibut. It is getting to be the right time of year to start seeing them though. They may be there now! The only way to find out is to go.
