This Thursday, June 5th the Waianae Neighborhood board is having its monthly meeting. One of the topics being discussed is the possibility of wilderness camping permits at Makua Keana Park.

For all of you, who used to camp there and dive, please be present if you would like to see, legal camping by permit allowed at this park.

Here is a link to the agenda for the meeting:

Waianae NB June Parks Comm Ag, Official Web Site for The City and County of Honolulu

It will be at the Waianae Community Center from 7-9 pm on June 5th.

Wasn't Kaena Point just in the news wanting to keep people out because of the wild life out there? Or was that a different point?

The camping permits, if they come about, would likely be for designated areas, such as Pray for Sex and Makua beach. Areas where there is heavy day activity already.

And the permits would likely come with heavy rules.
