Britons missing on Indonesia dive

The group were scuba diving off the coast of Indonesia
Three British scuba divers have been reported missing off the coast of eastern Indonesia.

Britons Kathleen Mitchinson, Charlotte Allin and James Manning are missing, along with two other divers thought to be French and Swedish.

They had been in the waters of the Komodo National Park, about 500km (300 miles) east of Bali.

The French news agency AFP said the group - now missing for more than 24 hours - were swept away in a current.

It quoted local police chief Butje Hello as saying rescue teams had been searching but without success.

The UK Foreign Office said it was providing consular assistance and liaising with the local authorities.

BBC correspondent Lucy Williamson said the party included an experienced diver who had spent a long time in Indonesia.

There have been unconfirmed reports of bad weather and strong currents in the area, and there have been high spring tides in Indonesia this week.

Komodo National Park is bordered by the islands of Rinca, Padar and Komodo as well as several smaller islands.

It is one of the largest protected marine-sea zones on earth.

Unsettling to be sure. Here's hoping they are found in short order. We're heading for the Komodo Dancer next week, we're certainly still going, but we're a bit more unsettled now.

Goods news all the divers have been found today on Rinca Island

That is great news. Hopefully we will get to hear about what took place from the time they were determined to be missing until they were found.
