Opinions on Suunto D3?

I'm looking at getting one in time for my upcoming cave class, but don't know much about BTs.

How does this one rate for technical diving? Any major weaknesses?

Are the pin holes for the straps big enough to use with bungee cord?

Would you recommend a different BT?

I don't know all that much about them because I've not used one much, but it seems to be a great unit for the price. You can download your dive info/profiles just like the suunto dive computers. I've never heard anything bad about them and can tell you that suunto makes great products.

Wow, I'm surprised no one's using the D3. What is the favored bottom timer on this board?

Or should I have posted this in the tech section?

I'm using it and like it fine. I replaced the strap and use the upload cable/box from jamei on this board. Favorite feature is the count up timer.

Hint: use the search feature to find out some of this type info as it's usually been discussed in the past.

I think at least 3-4 other divers on this board use the D3 and like it.

You replaced it with bungee?

I tried searching for "suunto d3", but d3 is too small a parameter for the search engine. After reading a bit about stingers, vytecs, etc, I gave up.

Opinions on Suunto D3?
