Can anyone who has been to punta cana give me any positve information on the diving. I have been reading alot of bad things. I would like to hear from someone who has been there.

Dying reef, garbage on reef, fished out marine life of any size, least common denominator dive boats, surface conditions Dec thru Mar can be very rough because it's the eastern end (windward side of the island)--sometimes dives are cancelled.

Sounds greeat! Doc you should makes commercials or something. You paint a picture with words. :D

It looked that perhaps my response to this inquiry in an earlier thread, http://www.scubaboard.com/t23821/s.html , was too subtle.

To be helpful, ukdiver, I'd suggest that you speak with Punta Cana dive ops and find out if any are doing trips over to Boca Chica, Bayahibe or La Romana on the south coast, where the better diving is, like La Caleta Marine Park, Catalina Island, Saona etc. They'll bus you over & hook you up with a local op.

Best regards.
