it helps a little, but if you really want to get "up close and personal" take it to dinner first, maybe a glass or two of wine just to loosen things up :wink:
 
Most noise and aggressive movement will spook many fish. I do not know about Florida spearfishing. Check out the Florida section of SpearBoard for the best answer. It does sound like a joke though.
 
It depends. Waving at fish can get them to turn and give you a better shot angle if you are talking about more cautious fish like grouper and snapper. Large AJs on the otherhand like alot of commotion and will come and check out any spastic movement.

With freeshafting getting a grouper to turn away from you just alittle is key for ideal shot placement and we will often wiggle a fin or maybe grunt alittle to give the fish the idea that we may be hostile (once we have closed to kill shot range). Thy will then start to turn slowly away before moving out to a safer distance. When they start to turn is the perfect angle. Worked well on thi 44# true black (my first) two days ago.
