ok a friend of mine bought this computer even though I told him not too know the dive software seams don't support windows xp
anyone out there using this computer , he says on windows xp says it wont even detect the cable . he called aeris they stated says they have no plans on supporting windows xp .

I found that XP doesn't allow the Aeris 300g software driver to directly access the parallel ports anymore like in Windows 95. This is done for security reasons in XP but unfortunatley breaks previous Windows 95 software. This can be a major problem so luckily I found a workaround called "directIO" from "www.direct-io.com" ($29) that allows the program to bypass this security. There is a free trial version and of course there is freeware ($0) that can do the same thing that can be found on the internet, here is the link where I found the previous patch - "http://www.lvr.com/parport.htm". I had tried getting Aeris to give me a solution but unfortunately there only solution was to upgrade to a newer Aeris model.
