Sharx: in another thread, gman mentioned a 30%+ chance of seeing hammerhead schools. Did you see any while you were there?

Also, were those proper mantas or pygmy devilrays? I've never seen or heard of such big schools of mantas, and I can't tell from the pictures.

We didn't see the hammerheads though the guide said he saw one swimming past 2 days before we arrived. The condition was far too challenging for us to go deeper or stay longer underwater.

You're right, those are devil rays aka mobula rays. I name them Manta in my photo album cos I guess most divers know them as Manta rays.
