Looking for some input on some good places to dive very near or even in atlanta. I was over there this weekend and will be back next weekend but will only have a short amount of time on saturday or sunday afternoon. Any suggestions?

BNow, unfortunately, there isn't any diving *IN* Atlanta (unless you want to do the "Dive with the Giants" at the Georgia Aquarium -- reserve FAR in advance).

However, an hour north, there's DiveHaven quarry. Another 45 minutes north of there, is Loch Low-Minn quarry in Athens, Tenn.

2-1/2 hours west of Atlanta is BlueWater (ABWA) in Pelham Alabama (my favorite).

However, I'm not sure any of these would fit into your schedule...

Good luck.

Bluewater is out. I live about 45 mins from there between bluewater and atlanta along I-20. I may hit up Dive Haven. I was thinking about driving up to elijay, GA one of those afternoons anyways. Oh well I was hoping there was somewhere failry close. Thanks for the quick response. I might just have to settle for the hotel pool.:rofl3:

Try Madison. It's about 2 hours north of B'ham. Good time to dive it as it's the first time since 2005 that it's been fully open and will only be open for 3 months (per the lease).

Doesn't look like right now you'll be able to dive it next year, so it's "dive it now or never".

I talked to my buddy and we'll be coming to Madison soon. I have been wanting to dive there since I heard about it.

I was just looking for somewhere in Atlanta because I have to be in Atlanta for a review course on saturday and sunday.
