Bugs?

hey all! new to socal, just stationed here on north island (coronado). is there any good places near here to find some lobsters? i know spots are guarded like gold but i need to find out where in general to start, a bunch of my gear (bc, tank, reg) disapeared in transit, so i need a spot i could access by snorkle, for now. i know the season opens soon so i would like to scout out some possible spots, all help will greatly be appreciated, thanks!!
