Shark stun gun ?

Hi.

Any idea of the effects on a diver if a gas igniter (as those used in a kitchen) is triggered underwater? It's about 20,000 Volts for a few microseconds.

I put one on a 4' fiberglass pole with one electrical terminal at the tip, the other at the base.

The intention is not contacting the shark, but discharge the electrical pulse far ahead upon harassment.

The piezoelectric device is fully protected from corrosion and waterproofed. Only the terminals obviously exposed.

Both terminals could be placed at the tip to be away from the diver, but the shock field area and intensity would be much smaller.

Have not tried it yet. Just in case, I want my coffin purple.

I can't imagine it being dangerous. You can put your tongue on one of those things and discharge it without it hurting you (for too long - don't ask me why I know this :) ). If you were to convert a Tazer for use on sharks I would worry about that....
