Are you wondering which light to buy, the LED 500 or the new LED 700? Want to know what the difference between the two lights is, check out our BLOG to find out.

Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Best,
Ag

I must have missed it. How long did you say the LED 700 burn time was?

Thanks.

"The higher milliamp draw coupled with the driver renders the same burn time and color temperature as a 10W HID light." So about 4 hours.

The quote is from the blog (end of the 3rd paragraph), and the specs are also in the "tech specs" on the 700 lumen's page.

SCUBA Diving Equipment for Technical, Wreck and Cave Diving: Dive Rite, Inc - Product Catalog - LED 700 Canister Light

The pricing seems pretty favorable (IMO) considering you don't have bulbs to replace or worry about failing... $649 at Dive Rite Express.

I also noticed Dive Rite Express no longer carries a 10w HID... does the LED solution actually REPLACE the 10w HID line of lights?

The statement in the blog is misleading. It doesn't say 4 hours... It says about the same amount of time as a 10W HID. The burn time on an HID, any HID, is dependent on the canister (Battery) size, not just the wattage of the bulb.

It does say 4 hours in the tech spec.

Sorry, I assumed the author was comparing times on the same size batt pack as the slimline 10w, which is 4 hours.

The 700 Lumen LED seems to have a light head that approximates that of the MR-11 Sunspot. Would it be possible to "upgrade" the Sunspot's light source to that of the 700 Lumen LED?:D

If Dive Rite won't be offering the upgrade option, will the light source assembly be made available to those of us who are willing to risk doing the retrofit ourselves?

Hi CaliJoe,

Upgrades will be possible. I will post the information about costs and how to go about getting an upgrade shortly.
