The ION regulator looks like it uses the "oceanic cdx5" 1st stage. How is the ION's 1st stage different than the CDX5?

v--Locke--v October 5th, 2008, 05:25 PM The ION regulator looks like it uses the "oceanic cdx5" 1st stage. How is the ION's 1st stage different than the CDX5? Doug Krause October 5th, 2008, 05:52 PM A little decal with "AERIS AT400" on it :) It is the same. v--Locke--v October 6th, 2008, 05:00 PM well since I already have a 1st stage, (or i can get cdx5's pretty cheap) how hard is it to get a ION 2nd stage? are these sold separately? alinco October 10th, 2008, 06:05 PM I'm not sure about an answer to your question, but I just wanted to put in my two cents worth about the Ion Regulator. I absolutely LOVE it!!! To me, it breathes VERY easy and it is very small compared to other regs I've used. I've only been to about 60 feet with mine, but it breathes just the same at 60ft. as it does at 3ft. v--Locke--v October 13th, 2008, 10:30 AM yeah cause i now have 2 cdx5's so it would be nice to know about the 2nd stage to build this reg at a lower cost scuba127 October 13th, 2008, 06:16 PM How's the hose routing on the CDX 5 lst Stage? v--Locke--v October 14th, 2008, 12:44 AM its a turret style that doesn't swivel (meaning: when its mounted to the valve the 1st stage sits vertically, not straight out.) It i like it just fine, no major problems, 2 hp and 4 lp, its symmetrical so half go off over the right shoulder and half go over the left. Is this what you are looking fro I can take a pic? KGNickl October 15th, 2008, 09:39 AM I was quoted $275 from Scubatoys for the Aeris Ion 2nd stage. v--Locke--v October 16th, 2008, 12:50 AM hey thanks, i may look into that ina few months! WolfY October 20th, 2008, 08:48 AM Look at ST "Used Scuba Equipment and Demo Scuba Gear" The EOS is the same as ION 1:st+ 2:nd for $300 Used Oceanic EOS Regulator reviews and discounts, Oceanic (http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=UsedOceanic_EOS_Regulator) I just got something else and missed that offer. KGNickl October 22nd, 2008, 12:38 PM Look at ST "Used Scuba Equipment and Demo Scuba Gear" The EOS is the same as ION 1:st+ 2:nd for $300 Used Oceanic EOS Regulator reviews and discounts, Oceanic (http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=UsedOceanic_EOS_Regulator) I just got something else and missed that offer. Don't worry. According to a review I read in a magazine they are not the same and the ION gets better reviews. v--Locke--v October 22nd, 2008, 05:35 PM it can't be the same: - the EOS 1st stage is the dx 10, while the ION uses the cdx5 - the EOS 2nd may be the same or similar to the ION 2nd, but I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere
