Has anyone ever heard of a dive shop that could not fill your tanks because your valves are too large. Here at lake amistad we only have one compressor (that I am aware of) with-in 150 miles. They cannot fill my tanks which have an oms isolation manifold with yoke adapters because there fill device will not fit over my valves. The only apparent fix is to by a din to yoke converter that is an external model. Has anyone heard of this problem before? Is there compressor outdated and if so what is the chances of getting bad air?BTW my new hid light came in from aul and I could not dive it because I have no air!;-0

So are your oms valves 200 bar or 300 bar versions?

The fill whip on our club compressor will not fit anything that is not a straight K-valve. It is just a tad too small. I use a brass convertor.
No big deal and it has nothing to do with the compressor.

So your saying the Yoke didnt fit over your OMS valve in order to fill it ? I am confused!

I was in Tahoe years ago and the LDS couldnt fill my DIN tanks. They didnt even have the adaptor, Lucky i always carry one.

The fill whip can have the tank filler connection switched and has nothing to do with the compressor age.

Aparently you have the little valve adapter inserts that convert DIN to yoke?

An example is this auction on ebay (not affiliated in any way, but hey, it's got a nice pic to illustrate the point):

If they only have Yoke fillers that will not fit your DIN valves with these Yoke inserts, then you are pretty much SOL without the Sherwood DIN to Yoke fill adapter.

An example is this auction from ebay (again, not affiliated in any way, want to use the pic for visual example):

An alternative would be for the fill shop to change out their filler to one that can supply either DIN or Yoke valves, but then that would require you to convince someone else to spend money instead of you controlling your own destiny.

The interior dimensions of the yoke on our fill whip is slightly smaller than the yoke on a regulator. Have no idea why, as the one at the dive shop fits fine. It may fit my OMS valve okay (haven't tried it), but it does not fit my 232 bar Thermo manifold. As I have a mixture of DIN and yoke, I always have an adaptor with me.

Thanks for the inputs. Just to answer a few questions my manifold is a 200 bar, If I am not mistaking you cannot put a yoke adapter in a 300 bar manifold for use with a yoke regulater. The fill whip is actually smaller than the valve on my tank. runvus4 the second pic you posted is what i will need. The problem I am facing is that I am leaving town for 3 weeks, I will be taking my gear with me and diving florida springs on the weekends and I was really hoping to be able to dive with my light prior to going to springs. All my gear is new as I have been out of diving for 3 years. Not to mention I made the conversion to doubles and only have 2 hrs experience with this gear and I am still making minor mods to my configuration. It made for a frustrating evening instead of a peaceful dive.
