Greetings!

I'm continuing my planning for my trip down to NC in mid-May.

I'm not chartering...I'm taking my boat down there. It's seaworthy, 19' and I frequently take it up to 20 miles offshore in Virginia.

I'm looking for information on good sites for spearfishing. I prefer to be within 10 miles or so of shore, just because of weather. I can launch out of Hatteras or Oregon Inlet, whichever is best. It seems to me that Hatteras would be better...closer to the Gulf Stream.

I'm looking for GPS coords, general info on water temp, depth, viz, and species to target.

Thanks!

Matt

Here is a link to the NC marine fisheries. It has the cords of the art reefs. Lot of them are close to shore and there is one or 2 in the sound that may be worth a try. As to species, I quess anything you will eat.

Great site...glad they give GPS info, buoy info and map info. Very cool.

Have you ever dived the ARs there? What's viz and temp like in May? And will there be spearable fish there? :)

Thanks!

Matt
