I am building my own dive spools. I purhcased a foot long piece of Delrin and will probably produce 6 of them. How many spools should I have? I plan on using one for emergency, and the rest I don't know. What else can one do with a spool? Please respond. Thanks,

Sell one to me for a couple of bucks!

So, do you have a machine shop? If so, I have a few more equipment ideas.

If you are open water diving, one and it should be 130 feet long. That way when you are at max dept for OW, you can shoot a lift bag and do an ascent. But if your are cave diving, proably 2. One primary (400 feet Plus) and one reel for jumps, searchs, etc - about 75feet. And I have heard, but I don't know, if you are a DIR type, then I think they want you to have two of everything.

Send a picture when your done. Diablo has the ideas, maybe we can get you to build our ideas.

good luck
