By the way... right now the water temperature is about 35.8 F... it's a US weather buoy! Not sure what that is in celcius but I do know it's bloody cold!

Please note that this site is usually off by 1 or 2 degree's F. The temp yesterday was 34F for everyone in the group that dove yesterday. Needs to get around 40 for me to be putting on my 7mm and putting up with the fogged up mask ( no de-fogger or manual de-frogger ie:spit helps ) and ice cream headaches they are just a fact of life for me.

A little off topic but can someone point me in the direction where to find shore dive locations around Brockville . Planning to head down later this summer and maybe a spur of the moment idea and little time to book a charter..Thanks

Centeen Park is an OK shore dive for new divers. If more experienced you can do the swim out to the wreck of the Gaskin.

There is the Rothesay and the Coal Docks in Prescott and the Conestoga in Cardinal (all within a half hour of Brockville)

Thanks GTA... I've seen people diving off of the wall in Prescott right infront of the dive shop and was wondering what goes on there as well. Is it a drift and what depth?...Thanks:confused:

the wall in front of the dive shop in prescott (sea n sky) is like a u/w fun park. a bunch of stuff roped together. not a bad dive (40 ft deep, some current) - but it makes for a fun night dive. sea n sky has a nice charter boat, although i don't know if it's in the water yet. excellent crew! capt. kevin is great. plus, on 2 tank days trips they serve soup and sandwiches. lots of excellent wrecks in that area.

Thanks for the info Scubapunk. My bud & I intend on hitting the area this summer but maybe a last minute thing so if unable to get on a charter may resort to shore dives.

I couldn't go without mention of our very own underwater park created by the 1000 island scuba club.

It is located right in from of the Brockville Rowing club. We have a number of ropes running off in different directions, flamingo park, shopping carts etc... and what dive would be complete without a visit to the wrecked barge also.

Make sure you stop in Brockville for some excellent shore dives. Even the famed Needles Eye drift dive can be fun if you talk to the right people to get you to the shore entry point. Kinda of a secret, but we've been know to let people we like know how to access this wonderful addition to our various shore dives here.

Cheers!

You'll see on the BBQ thread that Aquabella and I are interested in heading down that way to joins ya's if it comes together and the date works for us. If not we'll probably just cruise down at a later date and may need to pm you for further info. Thanks Bobito

The water was between 38 and 40 degrees F during the Easter weekend. Vis was OK but there seems to be a lot of particulate and or micro-critters in the water for this time of year.
