Anyone used a UK Remora before?
Good?

...no problems with it yet. Had it about a year I think.

My UK Remora knife is sitting in a closet.

Nowdays I dive with a 2" lockback knife in my BC pocket, adding a pair of EMT shears on occasion. The folding knife is smaller, and doesn't create any drag when in the pocket.

Clipped to a bungee cord inside my pocket, it is readily accessible and has a short lanyard to loop around my wrist ---- if I NEED the knife, I want it secured somehow so it can't be dropped.

YMMV,

Where do you place our UK Remora?

Where do you place our UK Remora?
to the left of the buckle (on my left side). Pretty much in the same place as this one:

O-ring,

Did you have to modify the sheath to thread the 2" webbing through it? I had a Remora that I sold with an old BC (it was semi-permanently attached to a pocket) and I don't recall it having a wide enough slot for 2" webbing. I would sure buy another one if I didn't have to modify to sheath too much.

The sheath fit the 2" webbing right out of the box...no modifications needed.

had mine since i started diving. i like it because it's small.

it's mounted the same way as o-ring's - though i lost the bungee on the sheath ages ago. the canvas is thick, stiff and sewn snug enough that i have't felt the need to tie another bungee (i do have sea snips in my thigh pocket, though) -it's that snug.

the remora has retained it's sharpness, and i had occasion to try it a couple of months ago - freeing a fish from a discarded fishing net. worked fine :)

Nice little knife. I have it on my weight belt, out of the way.

I have a larger Wenoka attached to my console.

i just received the Remora as an early
Christmas present. can someone tell
me what the four little holes are for
on the back of the sheath?

Also I have to firmly hold the sheath
in my left hand and really pull on the
knife with my right to unsheath it.
Am I doing something wrong? It doesn't
seem practical to have to use this much force
to unsheath the knife. (and I havent mounted
it yet)

there were two backs that came with mine and either could be screwed down. One was the std 2" webbing adaptor and the other was a LP Hose tube to mount it on your reg. I think I threw away the latter, but someone might like it over mounting it to their BC.

I am wondering if the shop did not give
me everything that is supposed to go
with the knife then.

i have the hard sheath with four holes in the
back....hmmm?

Mine had the knife, sheath, two backs, screws, 4 washer-like doohickies that allow the sheath to be screwed into fabric (webbing, I suppose), and instructions. All in a box that was taped shut. I purchased two (for my wife and I) from LeisurePro. Pretty happy with them...

Wow - this is a one well-designed piece of gear! I mount mine like O-ring does on my backplate harness and the blade is still rust-free after a bunch of dives, even around the tang of the blade. It complements well the EMT shears I also carry.

Since 3 years & 200 dives, I have had UK Remora attached to the LP-hose of my BC-Inflator where it’s not in the way but easy to reach. Prefer this set up to the larger knife I used to have strapped to my leg . After dive trips (20 dives or more) I remove the plastic & rubber parts from the knife, give all the parts a good cleaning before applying a thin coat of silicon grease to the entire SS part of the knife. Up to now, the knife does not have a spot of rust.

Did you ever get this figured out? BTW, I saw one a before Christmas that was mounted to the 2 in webbing on the left vert chest side. Not through the strap, but screwed into the webbing. Had to admit, it was pretty nicely located...

Yogi...
The LDS did not give me the attachement for the sheath
to the BC hose....

They have been ordered and I have been waiting
for it for about a month
