hi I'm off to phuket in Feb 09 i will be staying in Khao Lak,
can any 1 recommend (1)a good padi dive club or (2) good dive sites

There's quite a few dive operators at Khao Lak and most are fine outfits with professional and helpful staff. Do not miss out on diving the tin-dredge wreck just off Khao Lak's beach if you are into macro photography and certainly do a day-trip to Koh Bon where there's often a good chance to dive with manta rays.
Personally I could dive both these sites over and over and over again without getting bored!

There's also the option to do multiple days Liveaboard divetrips from Khao Lak to the Similan Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Tachai, Koh Bon and the Surin Islands.

nice 1 thank you i cant wait to see manta/sharks i have been to the red sea 5 times and missed them by seconds every time
