If I am going to hold the dive at my cottage I would prefer to be on holidays. If the dive is at Ducks it could be questionable. I apologize, but this new job has taken away most of my free time and to ensure we have a proper event since people are travelling from afar, I'd like to be able to give a yes or no at this point but am unable to do so. If you can give me a week or so to confirm with my Board Chair it would be appreciated. If you feel the need to book now, I will suggest you go with Ducks and I'll see what I can do at that point. ;-0 Butch103 April 26th, 2003, 07:25 PM no pressure, especially since you did volunteer you space, if we cannot hold it at your place, so be it, you cannot make heaven and earth meet. Don't sweat it mate. We can find another spot if need be......... I am really trying to firm up some details....... Most importantly the date....we can always find a spot to get wet somewhere..... DivingGal April 26th, 2003, 07:53 PM Well I'm in full support to the date. I'd love to have it held up near the Brockville area (and at Taz's place if we can). Though I'm willing to travel as shown by the fact I put on 600Km for today's diving. Now for actual diving. Unless we move on it... it may be unlikely that we can get a charter, so I suggest we aim for a place that can please folks with shore diving, and take a charter if we can. So Butch - you have my vote for 26 July 2003 holding at Taz's (aka Brockville area) (with the bonus that there is lots of shore diving to choose from) mcrae April 26th, 2003, 08:19 PM I tend to agree, that Brockville would be a good choice, lots of charter boats available and numerous shore dives. Did I mention the patio at the Keystorm? I'll check with some charter friends of mine and see what kind of a deal we can get ( will have my Divemaster done by this date ) and I will also talk to Helen about camping at Abucs etc. If we could nail down number of who would want to camp, need accomadations, dive on a charter and do some shore dives it will help me out. I'll try my best to play host for this event. My vacation request has been declined by management. I figured it would be a long-shot. In this case, I cannot say what I'll be up to on the weekend as a whole, but am willing to set aside the Saturday for diving. I wil check out camping at Helen's, it would be nice to do a charter with her or Mike at Diver's Paradise. They have a patio and bbq they are willing to let us to use and since they are 100ft from where we could do a shore dive in Brockville. I'm proposing the following: Morning and/or Afternoon Charters with Abucs and Diver's Paradise. Late afternoon shore dive ( in front of the rowing club ) then bbq at the dive shop patio. Drinks and dancing later at 'Buds on the Bay'. Those that wish to come and camp let me know some numbers and I'll check around here for you. Could each individual who is planning on coming for Saturday July 26th please 'pm' me with the specifics of what they plan to do / would like to do / do they need a place to camp / are they staying in a hotel / shore diving / what charter's ( if any you'd like to see ) etc. Having the above info will allow me to put something together more quickly that trying to read individual notes and posts. Once I have a general feel for what everyone wants to do and needs etc. I'll post a new thread confirming what I can put together and take if from there. LOL I wish I could guarantee I would be there to finally meet some of you but I am planing to go the other direction and see the sinking of the Nipigon on the 26th and then maybe dive the Empress of Ireland.
