Hi,

For our trip we're planning on flying into Cairo, going straight to Sharm for 5 days of diving, then back to Cairo to do Giza and the tourist stuff for 2-3 dry days before flying home. That means ideally we don't want to fly between Cairo and Sharm.

Can anybody suggest the best way for getting from Sharm to Cairo?

Thanks for your help,

Drew

That makes sense. I just looked it up, and based on what I'm seeing here and other places, it looks like that bus trip will probably be 6-8 hours. Unfortunately we're only going to be in the country for a little over a week, so if we don't want to lose almost two full days in transit, it looks like flying is the only practical option.

We'll just have to call it after 1-2 dives on our last wet day and fly out late the next day to make sure we're out of the water for the 12-24 hours necessary before flying.

Thanks for your help.

Go on to the Egyptair website, EGYPTAIR - Welcome to EGYPTAIR website, and you can get flights, booking direct, for about LE800 return which is about Ž£100 or US$150. If you choose the right time you can get it even cheaper.

The bus take about 7 hours and although it might be interesting the first time it is a real bore.

Bite the bullet and book direct. Payment can be made via credit card and it is safe.

Hope this is useful.

Enjpy your trip.
