Which wetsuit will I need to be really comfortable for my upcoming liveaboard dives in the "South and St. John" this coming February? What is the water temperature and visibility like in this region during the winter? Is a 5 mm sufficient, or will I need a 7 mm to remain really comfortable, with multiple daily dives? Do I need a semi-dry suit? What is the diving like during the winter months in the southern Red Sea?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I havent been to the south part of the red sea but in feb the water temp in Dahab area is 19-21 degrees C. I assume its a bit warmer down south. I dove daily for monthes while I was there so I wore a 7mm, for just a week or two Id say 5mm is more comfortable as youll be able to shed some lead as well. I believe there is still plenty of life in the southern part of the red sea in winter. Possibly a bit less big life then summer but I am sure you will still have many amazing encounters. Have a blast.

I have put together a little list with all this info: Weather, Wind, Temperature water/air, Marine Life et.c. based on my 9 years in the Red Sea. You can find the result on WELCOME TO AZIAB where you click on "Yearly Cycle"for all the answers...

For sure you'll have a great trip.
