Visa required to go to Manado

Hi,

I'm planning a trip to Lembeh. Do you need an Indonesian visa ? Can you get one on arrival like Bali or do you need to to apply beforehand ?

You can get one on arrival in Manado (info link)
If you have time beforehand, go to the Indonesian Embassy in London and obtain the visa in advance. . .

I think it is easier to get upon arrival than embassy.

Be sure you have at least six months of validity on your passport for your trip to Indonesia. They are very strict about that.

Visa on arrival is 30 days, but in some cases you can get a 60 day visa from an Embassy.

Some neighboring countries like Malaysia get a free visa.

Save the correct amount of Indonesian currency to pay for you international departure airport tax, it varies from airport to airport so ask upon arrival. it is about US$8.

At the airport in Bali departure tax is nearly 15 bucks these days (Rp.150,000).

Agree with previous posters: if you plan to stay 30 days or less get Visa-on-Arrival for US$25. Only brave the chaos and stubborn bureaucracy of an Indonesian Consulate if you need more than 30 days.

make sure to be seated in the 1st or 2nd row on the plane and the moment you get off the plane, Run Run Run!!!
otherwise....you are going to wait for a loooooong time to get the one pagefull of sticker on your passport!
