Very sad. Thanks for posting this. Any military vessels reported in the area firing up their sonars?
 
turns out they were whales not dolphins. and there was no earthquake that may have disoriented them. a submerged nava vessel pinging away with its sonar as suggested by Mislav becomes more plausible.
 
Saw this on CNN. Very good that all local peoples worked hard to return the dolphin to the deeper waters very carefully. It really shows how much more people here are caring for nature.
