I have an older model Outback BC that I absolutely love....except for the integrated weight pouches. They are of the old velcro style. No clips. A real PITA to install with two 5# soft weights inside. I think the BC is pre y2k vintage.

Saturday I lost one of the weight pouches while diving. My dive buddies wondered why I picked up some rocks. One buddy started snapping pictures of the rocks I was holding thinking I had discovered something unique.

I was wondering two things... Does Sherwood still have the old style of weight pouch and how much would it cost to buy two replacements? And, Since the Outback is modular in as much as I can replace just about every component, what would it take to upgrade the BC to the newer style of weight pouch with the added clip? It looks like I can remove the waist cumberbun. The size is XL and the weight pouches hold 10# each.

Thanks, Steve.

They still make those pockets. You will need to go visit you LDS to determine the price. Unfortunately, you cannot convert the velcro style pockets to the clip style.
