I contacted Scuba Diving Magazine to inquire as to why I did not receive my March issue and was given the following response:

Scuba Diving has been purchased by the Bonnier Publishing Co. Bonnier is
currently changing the frequency of how many times the magazine will be sent to
the subscriber from 12 issues to 6 issues per year. All subscribers will be
extended to accommodate this change. If you currently have a one year
subscription you will be extended out to a 2 year subscription.

The February issue was not published during this transition. The next
publication will be the May 2009 issue, it will include information in regards
to the new Publisher and the changes that are taking place and will be mailed to
subscribers during the month of March.

In March a letter will be sent to all subscribers explaining the changes taking
place.

Please be assured that you will receive all issues that you have ordered.

Sincerely,
Beth Farmer

So now we have to wait 2 months for reading material. Now I have 6 years remaining on my subscription :mooner:

Thanks goodness for ScubaBoard

WOW...

I think that sucks!!
I also wonder how many people will no longer subscribe to them.

I have not renewed as of yet

I was wondering what the deal was....but never got around to contacting them. Thanks for the info....even if it is a crappy answer.

imo, Scuba Diving started downhill when Rodales sold them several years ago.

It seems all print media suffer from improvements in e-media. So much information and entertainment is readily available on the internet, including ScubaBoard. Going bi-monthly appears to be a defensive attempt at cost-cutting.

I agree with Phil - it's probably only a matter of time until they go belly up. Either that, or they'll become essentially advertisements cover-to-cover like Sport Diver. (Although that didn't work for what was once the dive magazine, Skin Diver.)

i actually just found this out yesterday when i called them about not recieving anything in the mail for the last two months..

If you don't make it, you can always leave it to someone in your will.

I gotta agree that when Rodales sold the mag it was down from there.

I Liked Rodales and felt that they were the only ones that best covered the

dive gear arena.

All mags are under big pressure now I wonder how many if any will survive.
