Single Diver March 29-April 2, looking for buddies

I got some good ideas. Right now I am leaning towards Coral Reef and diving with Paradise right there.

Anyone going to be down there? My wife is staying back this time. I have a free flight due to miles so I decided to dive for 4 days. Who will be there and where? I am holding off on booking accomodations for a day or so until I see if there is anyone else going to be down there.

Dive Paradise will assign you to a boat for your dives. When you get on the boat, tell the DM that you don't have a buddy yet. Chances are good that there will be someone else single who needs a buddy. They will assign the two of you as buddies. If there is no single, then the DM will tell you that he is your buddy. Regardless, you don't need to worry about it ahead of time.

You may have found a buddy!!!

My hubby and I arrive at Blue Angel 3/28 for a week. He is an experienced diver, but I don't dive.

He is scheduled for many boat dives, but would probably love to head out with someone on a shore dive in the afternoon. He loves twilight/night dives too.

We aren't renting a car - are you?

ya, I am diving Monday and Weds at 8am. i will eat lunch, probably relax for a bit and then hit the shore diving.
I am doing the afternoon dive on Tuesday just to do something different. Actually, I am "tentatively" scheduled for that 1pm dive, I requested that I get bumped up to the night dive if enough people sign up for it.

We will be elsewhere--White Sands--and we have already booked with Aldora Divers (http://www.aldora.com) that week. But if you want to come on out with us for a day, our current plans are:

Saturday Afternoon: One tank dive, possible one tank night dive as well
Monday morning: Two tank dive
Wednesday Evening: Two tank twilight double-header
Thursday: Two tank Cenote trip to the mainland

I'd like to encourage all of the soloists to join us on Wednesday night if you aren't busy with your other diving :-) I have heard that the twilight double-header is a really cool dive, doing an evening dive and then a night dive in the same spot.

2 tank boat trips are fun; 2 - tank boat trips/day with a tank of Nitrox mixed in are twice as fun, since you're there anyway - as much as it takes to be there.

Let's see, you're arriving Sun 29th, to dive Mon-30th, Tue-31st, Wed-1st, then drying that afternoon and packing that evening. Don't know why you plan to dive Tue afternoon rather than morning? You may not have a Nitrox card, as easy and cheap as they are to come by?

But then spreading your trips out with 2 tanks in a morning, 2 in an evening, as multilevel as Coz diving usually is, I guess the Nitrox is optional anyway. It's most important on deep, square bottom dives - like wrecks, altho it has other uses to be sure. I'll be drying & packing Mon-30th afternoon & evening to leave on the 31st. I guess my best night for Twilight & Night diving is Sat-28th as I don't think we can get one on a Sunday. I'll be shooting for 2 boat trip Sun morning & afternoon, but if the latter doesn't work - we might hook up for a evening swim around the stingray pen?

You ever shore dived there? Usually you walk from the shop south along the sidewalk, down the stairs on the other side of the stingray pen..

....enter the water on the sandbags laid out for the snorkelers, watch out for urchins in the rocks and rays in the sand, dive with the current, altho last time I did it we have a reverse current and did this dive the opposite route...

I have never even been to Cozumel, so I am pretty excited.
As far as Nitrox, I am VERY unfamiliar with it. I think this weekend I will hook up with my dive shop and see what kind of info I can get on it.

Dont really have a reason for picking an afternoon dive in Tuesday, other than I love to get up early and sit on the deck with coffee and breakfast and just take in the air. Probrably sounds dumb, but I find it SUPER relaxing.

My wife an I will be there (cb) from 3-30 to april 4. We want to do a night dive as well as some shore diving + night snorkeling too. I will be the balding overweight guy with the really good looking girl. See ya in a week!
