Hi,

I'm interesting in scuba diving
could you please suggest some book
which would be great for beginner ?

thanks in advance :D

The quickest and more effective way to get into it is to take a beginners course from a dive-shop in your area. They'll set you up with all the materials you need for the course.

A beginners course will give you all the basic skills and theory you'll need to get started.

The best thing is to get the text of the certifing agency and read it before class. Another book that may interest you is "The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving". It will not teach you to dive but it will give you a good background in the basic physics and other sciences we use during diving. More of the "why" instead of the "how" but an interesting read until you get into class.

Welcome to ScubaBoard!!

I am relatively new to diving. I was "certified" last October by the Sport Chalet store in Bakersfield. I went to Mexico, south of Cancun and spent 8 dives with an instructor learning what was omitted from my class.

My wife is in the process of getting certified. We found a local dive shop (LDS) and are VERY happy with the instructor. He has even allowed me to go through the class with her at no charge to review skills and knowledge.

I too thought I would not get to dive much because I had no buddy - wrong. I found a local club of like minded folks and they all are very friendly. I am at the computer, it is 0500 and we are heading to Morro Bay for shore dives today. There are 8 folks heading out so far.

You will find lots of new friends, teachers, coaches and just plain interesting folks. Jump in and get your feet wet! You won't be disappointed.

Are you asking about books to learn, or do you mean books written ABOUT it in general?

If you're wanting to learn, as others have said the best option is to sign up for the class, get the course materials and then you can spend some time studying that book ahead of time.

If you're talking about good books for a beginner to read about SCUBA try looking here as a start:
