ITT: We poorly descibe the story of a movie we have seen, but we leave the title out so that the reader can try to guess what movie it is. Ill start with a classic,
This movie is about a man that meets himself on a plane and he tells himself that he makes soap. Then his house explode and he fights himself. He like it so much that he lets others try it too. Then he meets a scary looking girl and moves in to an old house with himself. When he realize that he is going to bomb the city with soap, he regrets it and shoots himself in the head, but since he has fought so much he survives. The end.

A guy gets chased out of his office and he talks on the phone. Then he meets a black guy and he chooses to swallow one of his pills, and he wakes up with cables attached to his body, and he has no hair. A claw lifts him into an aircraft and he eats some white stuff that maybe tastes like chicken. Then he learns different things, and in one program he cant jump all the way and he is not the one. Then he meets an old woman who bakes cookies and confirms he is not the one, and that he shouldnt worry about the vase. Some time goes by and then he yells "they are in the walls!". After he gets shot he realizes that he can stop bullets now and he actually was the one after all. Then he jumps into a program and binary code flies everywhere.

Alright, here is another review:
This movie is about a boy who wants to fight, but his father say no. Then he throws some rocks with his friend and suddenly his father and brother is killed in combat. His uncle adopts him and they go traveling all over the place and the boy turns into a man and now he knows most languages in europe. He comes back to his old town and finds a girl that he gave a flower to back in the days. She is impressed with the man, and they run into the woods. Suddenly a Lord comes and kills her and the man gets upset. He kill alot of soldiers and the king wants him dead, so the king throws a guy out of a window. Noone laughes. Some guys then meet at a field and they disagree on some stuff, and they fight. The man then gets tortured and he talks about being free before he dies. The end.

Ok I will try to make it more obvious. The government project made a door to another dimension open and this sends the ship crew crazy especially the dude that designed the original ship. He ends up the craziest of them all and tries to stop the others escaping by doing horrible things. In the end one of the crew blows up the ship with bombs by sacrificing themselves so the others can get away!

In the meantime, here's another (can you tell it's Friday afternoon?):
A government agent is tasked with tracking down a ring of child abductors. He chases them all over, gets close a few times and even manages to kill one of them, but the gang always seems one step ahead of him. In a climactic game of chicken near the end, he uncharacteristically panics and crashes his ride, but he makes it out of the wreckage and faces off with the leader of the crime ring, who has bitter memories of his time fighting for the confederacy. Only after a bloody fight does our agent discover that the boss that sent him on the chase is involved to a degree that makes it unconscionable for him to continue, and he lets the criminals go.

A rag-tag band of heroes (Autobots) is pursued through space (by the Decepticons) and ends up on a lush world (Earth--that's no moon!) where they team up with some of the indigenous population (the human dudes) to destroy the weapon. Several die during land and space-based combat throughout the film (including Optimus Prime, Starscream, etc.), and the heroes eventually destroy the weapon only after a frenetic high-speed chase throughout its innards (the Matrix thing blows Unicron up from within). Giving up waiting for you guys. It was "Shrek".
Rhone, I totally thought through Shrek, but for some reason I couldn't reconcile it (my memory was too shaky)--nice job!
well i think they just killed kids in road warrior, and no that's why samaria didn't work, but i'm outta options
Doc, with the possible exception of Road Warrior, you obviously watch more substantive movies than I do :) It's Serenity, directed by Joss Whedon (who also directed Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, which was the Bad Horse reference).
And now I start the commute. Hope to see this thread continuing on :)

Hint 1: the parent/child in the movie are parent/child in real life
2: it was a game before it was a movie

Dang beat me to it. Tomb raider was what i was thinking after the second hint.
Ok, single father raising a son. His wife died in a fire. The son discovers he has special powers and the dad can't sleep trying to figure out a puzzle. They meet a woman and her daughter that are the key to the puzzle. The woman's daughter has the same power as his son. The father, and the mother die, leaving the kids orphans.

Throwing a fresh one (bit easier) into the mix:
A government employee is made subject to disciplinary proceedings due to violating employment rules and temporarily suspended. The government employee continues to moonlight during his suspension, with a modicum of cooperation from his office. Thereafter the employee travels to Europe where he gambles. Although he wins a substantial amount of money, his girlfriend steals the winnings and tries to run away. He gets cross and so shoots somebody.
