our family (including 2 kids - 10 and 12) are travelling to France in June with a week in the Agde area. My husband has taken the first PADI course (the underwater part in a swimming pool) but the rest of us, though strong swimmers, have no dive experience. We are planning to do some beginning scuba diving, and have found several dive centres in the area with programmes that seem to suit us. I just wanted to go on a couple of diving forums and find out if anyone "in the know" knows of any particularlly good (or particularly bad!) dive centre in the Agde area. One of the centres spoke about diving in the Bassin du Thau, and I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas about that as well.
Thanks in advance!

The "étang de Thau" is probably the only interresting dive around Agde, it's interresting for photografers, not that much for divers.
La galerie des photos sous marine de l'étang de Thau hippocampes,seiches...Toute la faune et flore.

This is not a nice place for diving but it could be easyer for beguinners, it's like a lake and sometimes it's clear.

There are much better places for diving around the Med ( Marseille, Hyeres, etc...).
Agde itself is not such a nice place, it's sunny, they have big busy beaches...Sète is very nice and only 20 km to go.
