Hello,

Planning a dive trip between Aug and Oct and southern Egypt sounds pretty interesting. I've heard great things about Marsa Alam and want to get peoples input.

1) Do you recommend LOB or land based? My dive budget is around $1200.
2) How expensive are accommodation in Marsa Alam?
3) How does southern Egypt compare to Komodo or Raja Ampat in Indonesia?
4) What operators would you recommend?

Thanks.

Hi, I just got back from diving on live-aboard with Emperor Divers. The boat called Emperor Fraser. The cruise is Simply the best, diving The brothers, Daedaus Reef, and Elphinstone. I think it's worth the money to go on live-aboard.
I think Komodo and Raja Ampat are better in the critters part. Red Sea is better in visibilty and more chance to see big animals.
